Welcome

Hello Everyone,
Today is the beginning of my blogging journey.
It is very hard to write so typing seems to be easier. I really want to keep a journal of my amazing journey of healing. I will also be updating here so all of my friends can see my progress.
I finally have my Halo off. It was a very painful experience but am now feeling much better with just a neck brace.
I am also having my swallow test done so I can start eating foods other them puree. That will be very nice.
Mom and Barb took me out to get some fresh air and bought me a Lulu Lemon jacket. I was so excited!!!
The surgeon was in my room last week and was very excited to have me move my toes on my left foot. This made him really happy.

I will keep everyone posted.

Deanna - for Ruthie until she is up and blogging ready :)

  4. Hi Ruth! You've been in my thoughts each day, and I try to send positive thoughts for you several times each day. You are so strong in ways that you don't even realize :) I'm happy to hear that you are able to move your toes!!! Sometimes it's the small things that we always took for granted that become the most miraculous :) Baby steps, and day to day - stay strong Ruth! I'm hoping to get in sometime soon for a quick visit.

  5. Ruth,

It's good to know you're recovering so well. I'm happy you are keeping notes and paying attention to the process of healing. It will help so many people (both the injured and the ones who love them) to have a journal of what this experience is like. We love you so much and are in awe of your beautiful spirit.

  10. Ruthie, dear Ruthie! It was 28 degrees yesterday and this morning it is zero degrees and I should make a fire. But that's life, right? One minute you are riding a horse and the next minute you are lying on the ground. You never know. We are all so thrilled to hear you are recovering, and grateful for the internet to have regular news and and now words straight from you! When I first hear the radio news, that a woman in her fifties had fallen from a horse and was airlifted to Halifax, I asked James if it was you. Oh, says James, I don't think so. Ruth's not even 40 yet! We look forward to reading of your journey and to seeing you soon. The flowers are blooming and the sun's warmth brings life. May the sun shine on you and bring you strength and vitality. Love to you from the North Mountain, Christy Ann
